Introduction to Backcountry Skiing / Riding

Please reach out and let us know if you are interested or RSVP on your Loft App. Are you a resort skier or rider looking to get outside the boundaries and get into backcountry skiing or riding? Using a combination of field-based learning and presentations, we’ll demonstrate trip planning, avalanche safety, help you familiarize yourself with backcountry equipment, as well as uphill and downhill ski/travel techniques. Conveniently located for Boise locals, this one and a half day course will utilize the lifts at Bogus Basin to access the extensive backcountry terrain outside the ski resort boundary. A perfect intro to the skills needed for accessing the backcountry, you’ll also start learning your backyard terrain! There is a required 3-4 hour classroom session the night before at approximately 4:00-8:00pm.
